BOJUart Announces Gallery Move

BOJUart announces that the gallery will be closing its current location and moving to a new Virginia Beach location anticipated to be in the spring of 2020. During this transition period of building out our new gallery, artists’ work will continue to be available through the BOJUart.com online e-gallery, on Artsy.net, or by appointment for personal viewings of artwork. Our place. Your place.

Over the next few months we will continue our events with special online exhibits at BOJUart.com and Artsy.net with retail exhibits at Art Fairs and through Pop-Ups:

  1. Artsy.net online exclusive exhibition. Free Space, a dual exhibition featuring new abstract works from mixed media artist Marlowe Emerson and painter Jack McWhorter, October 3-24, 2019.
  2. Artsy.net online exclusive exhibition. All Wet, a solo exhibition featuring new coastal photography from Bob Petersen, October 10-31, 2019.
  3. BOJUart will be the only Hampton Roads gallery exhibiting at the 3rd Annual CURRENT Art Fair, Virginia’s only contemporary art fair featuring work from 20 regional galleries, October 25-27, 2019, at The Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Camp, Richmond, Virginia.
  4. BOJUart will have a holiday pop-up exhibition Art Inspired, December 1, 2019-January 30, 2020, at 17 W. Broad Street (The Mezzo Lofts at City Center) located in the Arts District, Richmond, Virginia.
  5. BOJUart will have a pop-up exhibition Boundaries and Edges showcasing recent work from many artists, with a special emphasis on painter Dathan Kane, photographer Bob Petersen and mixed media artist Cameron Wilson Ritcher. February 1-27, 2020, at 17 W. Broad Street (The Mezzo Lofts at City Center) located in the Arts District, Richmond, Virginia.
  6. BOJUart will have a pop-up exhibition Ceramics: Submerged, featuring ceramists Beth Lindenberger and Donna Webb with other contemporary works. March 2-28, 2020, at 17 W. Broad Street (The Mezzo Lofts at City Center) located in the Arts District, Richmond, Virginia.
  7. BOJUart will have a pop-up exhibition, Organized Chaos highlighting with abstract environmental works of Kristin Kowalski, Bob Petersen and others. April 1-30, 2020, at 17 W. Broad Street (The Mezzo Lofts at City Center) located in the Arts District, Richmond, Virginia.

We are sorry for any inconvenience our temporary physical gallery change creates. To reach the gallery goals, this step is necessary. While we wait for our new Virginia Beach location, we will continue to bring contemporary art to you in other ways. Online, art fairs, pop-ups and in person. Once the new gallery space is completed, we will bring an experience and more diverse gallery model crafted for today’s artists, art lovers and buyers.

Judy Jessen, Director of BOJUart explains “We will be adding strategies that expand our artist roster and geographic imprint, while complementing the traditional brick and mortar gallery with new experiences. While we are sad to move outside its designated boundaries, we continue to believe in the ViBe Creative District and be involved as a volunteer on the ViBe Friends of the Creative District Board.”
