Seascape 1$5,500.00The landscapes are derived from a personal connection to nature and a desire to create something meaningful and beautiful. I’m attracted to distant vistas and expansive skies. The paintings are a distillation of the natural world into its basic elements of land, water and atmosphere. Horizons and skies are predominant features. They are loosely based on photographs I take, often when traveling. I am not attempting to recreate a scene or photograph, but use the photos as a jumping off point, soon after beginning a painting the reference photo is put away. The scenes are unpopulated and show no evidence of man’s influence on the landscape. To me they are about the preservation of the planet and have an implied message of conservation.
BOJUart donates a portion of each piece sold to this artist’s cause the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (N.E.S.T.) to emphasize the need to preserve and protect the habitats and migration routes of Sea Turtle and other marine animals on the Outer Banks of North Carolina from the Virginia border to Oregon Inlet.

About this image: I captured this image during an exploration of the eastern shore in Virginia, a portion of our coastline that has limited access and is made up of countless islands and channels that change with the tides. Sound is what drew me to this particular spot. I wouldn't have noticed these expansive schools of small fish rhythmically swimming this remote channel if not for the surface exploding with activity as they danced across the surface over and over in a repetitive sequence. Once I made the first print, it made perfect sense to use a resin finish to capture the feel of the channel water. A simple frame and glass would capture a similar affect.$1,800.00 – $2,400.00 -
